Looking for some fun, new ways to show your pup some love? Here are some great ways you can show your dog some puppy love.
Take a trip
If your pet loves to get out and be active, why not indulge in a little ‘petaway’ with your pooch? Jump in the car and drive to a pet-friendly location for the day or even for the weekend. Plenty of hotels cater to dogs and their owners, and your pet may just like the change of scenery as much as you will. Plus, you’ll get to spend more time together, so it’s a win for both of you.
Challenge your pet
It’s easy to get stuck in a rut. Your pet is no different--he may get bored with the same routine, same toys, and same activities every single day. Mix things up by creating a mini obstacle course for your pet or buying him some challenging training toys. The harder your pet has to work to earn a treat, the more rewarding it will be. This extra mental stimulation will help keep your pet happier and healthier, too.
Treat your pet to a spa day
Whether you visit the groomer or have a DIY spa experience, a little extra pampering at bathtime is always a plus. Spend some extra time grooming your dog, brushing his fur, or bathing her in a gently scented bubble bath (using dog-friendly products). If your dog doesn’t mind bath time, this could be a great time to give your pet some added attention while taking care of his grooming needs.
Whip up some tasty treats
Nothing says ‘I love you’ like home-baked treats. Whip up a batch of special dog biscuits using all-natural ingredients. There are plenty of recipes online to choose from, or you could try making your own recipe using things your dog likes to eat. If you don’t want to bake, try making pupsicles instead using treats frozen in blocks of ice. This is a great treat for hot weather and can keep boredom at bay as well.
