Very pleased with Jersey's behaviour overall. I am still working on changing my behaviour! I noticed immediate improvement in how she responds when I ignore her. It must be my body language since she tried to bunt my arm for attention only once; now she will come over and if I don't give eye contact, she goes and lays down. She is waiting for me to get all the way down the stairs and then call her before she comes down. Barking is diminished and she has responded well to the bah from inside the house.I took her for a good long hike in the regional park and she stayed with me the whole time. Only ran off once to roll in the snow but came back when I decided it was time to go.

One incident occurred which I realized I handled in the old way; she was off leash and going to the car when a german shepherd came by with its owners; they (the dogs) had a growling and barking contest-I reverted to the freak-out mentality that didn't help to calm her; after I realized what I should be doing, she calmed down and came to me (still pretty much on her own time but at least she came.) I shuld have referred the german shepherd to you as it wasn't well behaved either-very hard to handle on the leash, and not just when it was being challenged by my dog. 3 Dogs. Now the dynamics changed... we usually had 2 dogs. They began attacking each other and we didn't know how to deal with it. It was emotionally hard for us. Also, one of our dogs has coyote in her and when we approach another dog when out for a walk (both on leashes) she went crazy trying to attack the other dog... People would come out of their houses because they thought a dog was getting hurt etc.

One call to Barkbusters and relief swept over me. I spoke with Kevin McDonnell who asked me 20 minutes worth of questions to get to know my dogs before setting up an appointment with me.

He was very nice, easy to speak to and provided us with some very helpful training. He also spoke very highly of Barkbusters itself and how much he enjoys it. Our visit was a relaxed, informative session and we noticed a big change in our dogs as well as us after it.

Training is really hard to keep up on, and that's why it's good to know that there's a lifetime guarantee. If we're doing something wrong with the training then at least we can get corrected on it. So far the attacks have been few and far between since then and the walks are slowly progressing... We're looking forward to a second visit in the future to tighten up our skills and we will recommend it to those who show interest in learning about Barkbusters. (You have to want the help first, you know?) But we'll definitely tell people about it!

Our confidence level is a lot higher now and that trickle-effect shows in our dogs.

Nothing short of a miracle! Bark Busters was my last hope for my dog Bayleigh - This was the weekend I was making a decision to adopt her out! I prefer to submit a subjective appraisal of my personal experience with Bark Busters. This is a totally new concept and I believe Kevin has succeeded in introducing the program in a positive and persuading manner. Our first telephone conversation was long and not rushed. It aroused my curiosity to the point that I had to know more. - Kevin's composure is calm, confident and reassuring. You can tell that he is a seasoned instructor. He possesses excellent teaching skills( ie. he is clear and easily understood). His presentation is concise and to the point. It is not weighed down with unnecessary information and therefore easier to remember. His method of presentation followed by demonstration and return presentation is excellent.

The first thing I noticed about Kevin is that he makes you feel comfortable. He does not talk to you in a condescending manner as others do. It is evident that he really believes in what he is teaching and that makes it all the more convincing. Kevin gives real meaning to the title Behavior Therapist which is used so loosely these days. It seems to me that the vision of Bark Busters is being realized largely because it appears to be "results" oriented as opposed to "profit driven". This way the total focus of both parties is on the outcome of your experience together. It also eliminates the anxiety caused by always wondering about those unexpected expenses that arise with other programs...
